Off Site Secure Backups

Consider the danger and frustration of losing all of your critical data. It doesn't happen very often.  But it does happen.

As a small business owner, you have to make sure many tasks are completed at your store. Backing up is just one of hundreds of things to remember to do.

We find that over 90 percent of installations where automated backups were installed, within 1 year, the backups were either not completing and no-one knew it, or the backup media was not being changed out on a daily basis.

We offer an alternative that saves you time, and money. You no longer have to maintain schedules of media exchanges, you no longer have to purchase CDRW's, floppies, tapes, or Zip Disks.

  • Always runs, never forgotten - don't ever worry about employees forgetting to change media.
  • No need to purchase backup media.
  • No need to upgrade your hardware for storage space.
  • All data safely encrypted and accessible only by you.

You can have your encrypted data automatically scheduled to be backed up to an off-site server, where your data is stored with special encryption keys. Backup your POS Data, Documents and Spreadsheets, Accounting data, and any other data you select.

Pricing is determined by the total amount of disk space you will use for your backups, and the number of days you want to keep backups rotated.  You can get started for as little as $9.95 per month.

What is required?

You must have a high-speed internet connection at your store.

How does the backup work?

We install and configure an FTP services from your XP or 2000 computer. We will create a special user that is password protected. Then we create a list of files to be backed up, and set a scheduled time that your computer connects with our secure, encrypted server every day. At the scheduled time, your archived, encrypted backup is stored in a secure location.  It's that simple. Remeber- no-one is calling in to your computer.  You have full control and protection.

How are the backups retrieved if they are ever needed?

You place a call to our support center, and our server will upload the current backup directly to your computer. Many of our clients elect to have one of our technicians come out assist with the restoring.

How much storage area will be required?

There are two criteria that determine this.  The first is the number and size of the data you want backed up.  Remember, you only need to back up data, not program files.  The second is the number of days you want historical back ups kept.  Let's say your data files, after archiving, come to 1.5 MB in size.  You want to keep seven days worth of backups, so you would take 1.5 times 7, which would be 10.5 MB worth of storage.

Is the stored data safe?

Our backup FTP software compresses the data with a compression password, then the data is encrypted.  The data is stored not only on our redundant file server, but also on our own backups which are monitored daily. You are the only one that can read and restore your data with the passwords and encryption keys.

What about data integrity?

We ALWAYS run full backup sets during each session, assuring that the latest of everything is on one set of backups.  The data is also brought over to another site that is seperate from the network.

Is there a chance files won't get backed up?

Our software skips over any files that are open on your computer. Make sure that you don't have necessary data files open.  By scheduling the backups in the early morning hours (after midnight, before 5am), you reduce the risk of open data files.

What geographical locations do you serve?

Right now, we service clients that are based in Louisville and Southern Indiana.  If you are outside that area, and have IT techs that can set up FTP on your computer, we can service your needs as well.

How do I get started?

By calling our support center at (502) 454-3727.  We will arrange to get everything set up for you.
